After foraging around for another piece of art work the other day, I came across a piece of artwork I created in 1975. I was 16 at the time. Hidden away in the bottom of my file drawer, I pulled it out. I was immediately transported back to my youth. I was working a ‘real’ job and doing painting in my spare time. Back then I wondered why I couldn’t be an artist. It’s the norm to meet professional artists making a good living. But I am still here, with brushes in hand and still excited about the thrill of painting. Looking at my approach to painting all those years ago. I ask myself a question… how much has changed in the way I produce a painting? It’s good to reflect and weigh up the differences.
